The Chanctonbury Cup
Chanctonbury Writers received a grant of money 'for the furthering of poetry in West Sussex'. This was a donation from the Muse and Music Society in memory of Jim Johnston, who did much to encourage poetry in the Horsham area.
After some discussion it was decided to purchase the 'Chanctonbury Cup', to be awarded annually to the poet whose entry was judged best from a West Sussex resident in competitions run by the Slipstream Poets, whose co-operation we gratefully acknowledge.

The winning poems for 2009 and 2010 appear on this site (under Members' Work 1 and 5), which was set up with a portion of the grant.
